Ⅰ. Factors influencing the zinc alloy die casting quality

1. Constraint elements of die casting alloy varieties: die cast tooling is restricted by temperature. Some alloys have high melting points so that the service life of the supporting die cast tooling is low, and the cost remains high and makes it difficult to apply to actual production. Currently, the alloys used for die casting are mainly non-ferrous metals such as zinc alloy, aluminum alloy, magnesium alloy and copper alloy.

2. There are often blowholes on the surface of the die cast: at high temperature, the gas expansion in the blowholes will cause the appearance of the die cast to bubble, which seriously affects the appearance of the die cast and reduces the quality of the whole zinc alloy die casting. Therefore, in general, the die cast cannot be heat treated and welded, and they are not suitable to work at high temperatures.

3. Constraints of the die cast size: the dimension of the die cast tooling is restricted by the clamping force of the die cast machine and the size of the tooling loading. Therefore, the die casting process is only suitable for the production of small and medium-sized castings, and it can not be applied to large castings. Similarly, as for the die cast with messy recesses, the die cast production is also more difficult due to the constraints of the die cast tooling and principle.

Among the existing casting methods, the pressure casting method has features such as high precision, smooth appearance, good mechanical properties and high production rate. However, whether these features can be brought into play depends on whether the die cast structure is designed reasonably.
